Motorola discontinued the VP in August of 1999.

By design, the ONCORE family of GPS receivers is built with the same
underlying receiver architecture, each incorporating the same Motorola GPS
custom I.C.'s (Integrated Circuits), the same Motorola GPS receiver software
and the same Motorola MPU (Micro Processor Unit) processing power. Add
reliability, responsive support and the long-term commitment you've come to
expect from Motorola, and you understand why ONCORE is the quality choice.
These units will be useful with current APRS software and the TAC-2
(Totally Accurate Clock) kit designed by Tom Clark, W3IWI.
As well as the MIC-E kit for APRS tracking.
