Resistor Installation
1-Wire Indoor Sensor/Interface Kit

Refer to the layout diagram for clarification of parts placement. All references to up, down, left, and right assume that you are looking at the PCB with the silkscreen TAPR logo oriented up on the board. Unless noted otherwise, all components are mounted on the top of the PC board.

Resistors are mounted flat near the surface of the board and will be installed in groups. As resistors are inserted into the board, spread the leads apart slightly on the bottom side of the board to hold the resistor in place. Do not solder or clip leads until instructed to do so. Be careful when clipping leads, as they could fly towards your eyes! Take appropriate precautions (grasp leads and wear eye protection). Save the clipped leads for jumpers later on in the assembly.

Note that the two potentiometers are not installed in this section.

0.1% Tolerance Precision Resistors - Be certain that the 0.1% precision resistors are used in this section, and not the 1% or 5% tolerance type.

  1K, 0.1% at R7
  1K, 0.1% at R14
  2K, 0.1% at R8
  2K, 0.1% at R15
  Solder and clip eight leads. Wear safety glasses and observe proper precautions!

1.0% Tolerance Resistors Again, be certain to use the correct tolerance type (1%).

Procedure
  1K, 1% (brown-black-black-brown-brown) at R10
  3K, 1% (orange-black-black-brown-brown) at R11
  Solder and clip four leads. Wear safety glasses and observe proper precautions!

5% Tolerance Resistors

  10K, 5% (brown-black-orange-gold) at R5
  10K, 5% (brown-black-orange-gold) at R6
  10K, 5% (brown-black-orange-gold) at R12
  Solder and clip six leads. Wear safety glasses and observe proper precautions!
 
  47K, 5% (yellow-violet-orange-gold) at R16
  2.2K, 5% (red-red-red-gold) at R17
  Solder and clip four leads. Wear safety glasses and observe proper precautions!
