Diode Installation
1-Wire Outdoor Temperature/Humidity Sensor Kit

Refer to the layout diagram for clarification of parts placement. All references to up, down, left, and right assume that you are looking at the PCB with the silkscreen TAPR logo on the right-hand side of the board. Unless noted otherwise, all components are mounted on the top of the PC board.

Diodes are polarity sensitive devices. Diodes are mounted flat near the surface of the board. The cathode end of the diode is banded and corresponds to the banded silk-screen legend on the PCB.

Ok
Procedure
  Install a BAT42 at D3.

WARNING! Be careful when clipping leads, as they could fly towards your eyes! Take appropriate precautions (grasp leads and wear eye protection).

Ok
Procedure
Solder and clip two leads at D3. Save the clipped leads for a later step.

In the next step, you must decide whether you will be using power from the 1-Wire® bus or external power for the humidity sensor. If external power is available, it should be used. External power is available if you are using the T-238 or the X1W-1 Inside Sensor/Interface board. Only one diode is provided in the kit. Only install one diode!

External Power
Ok
Procedure
  Install a BAT42 at D1.
Solder and clip two leads at D1. Save the clipped leads for a later step.

OR

1-Wire® Bus Power
Ok
Procedure
  Install a BAT42 at D2.
Solder and clip two leads at D2. Save the clipped leads for a later step.
