Refer to the layout diagram for clarification of parts placement. All references to up, down, left, and right assume that you are looking at the PCB with the silkscreen TAPR logo at the lower right-hand side of the board. All components are mounted on the top of the PC board.
All capacitors should be mounted as nearly flush to the board surface as practical without stressing the leads.
Important! Save the clipped leads for installing the ferrite beads in the next section.
Install a 0.001 uF (102) at C2
Install a 0.1 uF (104) at C5
Solder and clip four leads. Be sure and save the clipped leads.
Tantalum capacitors are polarized. The positive lead goes in the hole on the
board marked with a "+". NOTE: The orientation of the positive (+) leads are not all the same.
Be careful! The negative or the positive lead may be marked.
Install a 1 uF (105) tantalum capacitor at C4. Note! - In the first run of production boards, the polarity is not indicated on the silkscreen. The positive end of the cap should be oriented towards the cathode of D2, i.e., pointing to the left.
Double-check polarity and then solder/clip two leads.
