I know that x1j digipeaters add a little something to the beginning of the beacon text making a position packet not decode in any aprs client (used to in DOS aprs, but not any more as I recall). My question is this: Instead of programming the beacon text to be the position, why not program the beacon text to contain a 3rd party packet, and have the encapsulated 3rd party packet actually contain the location of the digipeater? Would that be decodable by any aprs clients? Wes
