Just like every APRS page in the world recommends since Bob first wrote
his up...

RELAY,WIDE,WIDE
or
RELAY,WIDE2-2

Depending on whether or not your local RF net supports WIDEn-n or not.

Granted, there a few special case areas where that doesn't work as well,
but as a Start Point - pretty tough to beat.
