My recommendation is to run APRSdos on an old $10 laptop from a Hamfest or a yard sale running running 24/7 and let it take the lightening hits and the abuse of being connected 24/7 to the real world. You can even let your TNC drive both your DOS and windows receive side. (only connect one TX side unless your WIndows APRS supports zip-lan port sharing). This way you can always see the network the way APRSdos sees it as well as do all the neat DF and other stuff not supported in other programs. You can even have an A/B switch in the TX side so either can talk if needed... de WB4APR, Bob
