[aprssig] aprsd doesn't work with Fedora?

I have used aprsd on Linux for many years. Recently when I upgraded from 
Linux RH9 to Fedora Core 2, aprsd failed. Has anyone successfully used 
aprsd under FC2. I don't think Dale, WA4DSY, is maintaining it any longer.

Any suggestions for a substitute. I just want to IGATE local RF packets to 
APRS-IS.
