[aprssig] are ISS APRS satgates still needed?

A while back Bob posted a message saying that we could use more Igates 
for ISS APRS operation.  I got permission to use the facilities here at 
UAH to implement one, then heard at the Huntsville Hamfest (hi Tim) 
that there was talk of switching the ISS radio to cross band repeat.

If they do this, is there still a need for Igates?  I'm trying to 
figure out if I should proceed putting the Igate online or just forget 
about it.
