OK, Four years ago I rode the Harley from NJ up to Maine to see the riders come into and leave the Iron Butt checkpoint outside of Portland. I ran APRS to and from, D700 in the saddlebag, magmount antenna on the luggage rack and Garmin GPSIII+ on the handlebars. ;-) ----Ken w2KB -----Original Message----- From: aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org [mailto:aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org] On Behalf Of AA3JY at Winlink.org Sent: August 22, 2005 17:21 To: aprssig at lists.tapr.org Subject: [aprssig] Iron Butt Relevence Figured somone would jump in with a comment..and I'll respond..about 2 years ago Bob, WB4APR posted the IBR (Iron Butt Rally) on this 'List' as a possibility of one or more contestents may have APRS onboard. Now if you look at the very bottom of the current post you will see the tracking capability along with the advancement in mapping.....Though I did not mention APRS..I'll apologise Clay AA3JY (Via Winlink) _______________________________________________ aprssig mailing list aprssig at lists.tapr.org https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/aprssig
