an you have to use the "digipeater" menu in UI-VIEW to do the same as what
you did in Command mode

Actually UI_VIEW wont let u go into digipeater setup UNLESS you have a kiss

No, in KISS mode, the TNC's internal firmware is essentially off. In
KISS mode, *all* operations, sources of transmit commands, etc. are from
the host computer.
