I tried a bunch of inverters, ended up be much more satisfied with a DC-DC converter to run my laptop in the car. No RF noise (that I detected on UHF and VHF) and significantly more efficient than inverters too. I got a couple off ebay for about $25. - KMC ng0x Denver
