The top map seen on the find.cgi page is generated by APRSWorld, findU fetches the map from APRSWorld and plots the APRS positions on top of it. As he states, the coast issue is the result of using lower resolution coastline data, a choice forced by limited computing resources. There are two potential solutions to this issue. Either the APRSworld mapping system needs to get better hardware donated (Jim has a PayPal donate button on aprsworld.net) or others need to step forward to set up their own map servers which findU could use to split the load. Jim's map server uses open source map tools and publicly available databases. Perhaps if others were willing to do this Jim or someone else could write up some sort of how-to to help people to do this. Steve K4HG
