Why would the fact it went via PCSAT-1 be lost? If he is running his digipeater with the alias of SGATE, then the only packets that would be digipeated by him are the ones that have a path similar to: "PCSAT-1,SGATE,WIDE". The path would stay intact. 73s, Eric KF4OTN kf4otn at amsat.org http://www.ericsatcom.net Project OSCAR Member AMSAT-NA Member: 35360 AMSAT Eastern North Carolina Area Coordinator -----Original Message----- From: aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org [mailto:aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org] On Behalf Of Robert Bruninga Sent: Monday, February 07, 2005 18:14 To: aprssig at lists.tapr.org; vk4tec at tech-software.net Subject: Re: [aprssig] PCSAT Digi onto normal APRS channels This is not a good idea, since once it gets digipeated to the terrestrial channel the fact that it went via PCSAT-1 is lost. It wont show up on FINDU... Bob >>> "Andrew Rich" <vk4tec at tech-software.net> 2/7/05 4:44:26 PM >>> Howdy, I was thinking of placing a radio on 145.825 with an alias of satgate. It would then have an offset to the normal APRS freq here of 145.175. The idea being that when PCSAT or ISS turn up, the TNC will try and digi them, flick up to the normal APRS channel. I am just wondering would I need to set the UI path to relay to go via the local digi ? Ideas ? _______________________________________________ aprssig mailing list aprssig at lists.tapr.org https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/aprssig _______________________________________________ aprssig mailing list aprssig at lists.tapr.org https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/aprssig
