Yes it is certainly possible, it would take someone who is quite an expert at javascript, and you need separate versions for different browsers (you get different code if you us IE and Firefox, and other browsers like Opera and Safari fail). Finally, this is a beta, at some point in the not too distant future I'll bet Google starts displaying geo-targeted ads and goes to encrypted map requests to protect their income stream.
