YES, plug it into the miniDIN6 "data" connector"

The DIN connector follows the "selected band" (i.e. the band the mic is 
on) as determined by which volume control was last pushed in.  The DIN 
connectory also provides a very positive squelch/COR indication that can 
hold off the TT TX until the channel is clear.

Absolutely trivial.  Just wire the GPS data in on both devices in 
parallel across the data out of the GPS.
