Exactly. And that was one of the major benefits of the New-N Paradigm. It was to get digis to only beacon with long paths once an hour instead of every 10 minutes and to TURN HID OFF so that that useless packet also did not go out every 10 minutes all over 5 states too. Before the New-N Paradigm, some digis were generating over 150 packets per hour of useless beacons! Under the New-N paradigm, they should be beaconing only *direct* every 10 mins so locals can tell they are active, then only 1 hop every 30 minutes and 2 hops every hour. In sparse areas like out west, this simple change *drastically* cut down on useless QRM... Bob
