I have released javAPRSME 1.0 for general use. You can get it from http://www.aprs-is.net/javAPRSME.htm javAPRSME is a midlet (a Java application written for the mobile platforms) which makes use of JSR 179 (the Location API for mobile Java). Some (not all by any means) cell phones with a Java virtual machine support this API. If yours does, then you can use your cell phone to provide up-to-date tracking. Update intervals range from 1 to 60 minutes with a transfer of about 100 bytes total per update. HTTP is used for the update so it should be compatible with most services. Some phones known to have JSR 179 implemented are some Nokia's and some Blackberry's. Check your manual for your model. Have fun. 73, Pete Loveall AE5PL mailto:pete at ae5pl.net
