[aprssig] Win APRS Mobile

At present I am using a D7 and a D700 for mobiles.  I would like to use my GPS (RS Digitraveler & Delorme) for APRS and a laptop for both local tracking and mail.  Has any one used this combination and can a single serial port on the laptop be made to work this way?  What are the min. requirements for the computer (233mhz, Win 95, 98, ME ???).
