You may find that if you get ahold of VE3FFR (his e-mail address is in his
beacon), he's a member of the Kingston group which most of the local digi
owners belong to, such as the owner of VE3UEL (which has a suspiciously
similar path to VE3IWJ, which is suspiciously similar to VE3FFR's own PATH).
I tried a bit of an "education" about a year ago, but at the time the new
paradigm wasn't established so coming up with specific recommendations was
difficult, and apparently I wasn't up to the task as "educator".
They can *all* run WIDE2-1 as their own paths (that'll get them to Ottawa
and Toronto and at least two IGates if not more). I'm sure the digipeaters
all need updating to the new paradigm too.

I'm trying to maintain a "tips" page for the Eastern Ontario region at
http://aprs.bpsmicro.com/EO_APRS.htm with more specific notes on what works
in this area. Feel free to point any VE3/VA3 users to that page for
*specific* tips on what they should set to. I did the bulletin thing for a
while, and got some success. The rest don't seem to read the messages (or
are under the mistaken believe that I'm wrong in my tips).

I copied this a few minutes ago.  It made a broad loop around to the West,
then came east to ZWO then north up to UMX then me where it got stopped dead
because I don't have TRACEN-N.  Good thing too, because I haven't seen an
WIDE7 in so long I am not trapping it any more and using that slot to trap
WIDE5-4!

It took some looking and I finally found an email address for this guy!
I sent a polite message. Hopefully he will listen.
