Actually, this is not necessary for IGating to work properly. Filtered ports will pass the remote station's posit packet with the message packet to the local IGate for processing, regardless of what the filter is set for. This was mandatory for proper IGate operation and implemented two years ago when the standard filtered ports were reconfigured for IGate operation (yes, server-side filtering is only 2 years old).
