I have downloaded all the files that are needed by Cygwin/xastir. The total is 87megs. I have placed this is a folder called cygwin-install on a USB flash memory stick. This, along with AGWPE, would permit you to have cygwin/xastir running with a sound card modem on any windows box within 5 minutes from the USB memory stick. Those who don't know, you can download cygwin/xastir here http://www.lintronix.com/winxastir/netinstall.html . Took 11 minutes on my cable modem for the whole download and install process. Although the turnkey install above will give you a few gross maps of the USA and Europe, internet can be used to pull tiger maps or teraserver photos. I have also included the shapefiles sorted by county for my state. SC for example is 57megs (every street in every county). http://www.kd4rdb.com/maps/ for some southern states. This setup allows me to use a cheap 128meg USB memory stick for maps and xastir install. Wes --
