[aprssig] Anyone use GPS module as alt to full GPS unit ?

I flew a Garmin GPS18 LVC attached to an OpenTracker on a balloon 
flight last fall.  The GPS18LVC is a puck-type self contained engine 
about 2 or 2.5 inches in diameter. It has bare wires and needs a 
regulated 5VDC, which I got from the OpenTracker.  I ran the pair off a 
9V battery pack.

Others around here have also flown the GPS18LVC with good results.
