I should have commented on this earlier. As I recall that OS is just a stripped-down Debian Linux. Once you set up a few things you can snag packages from the normal Debian places instead of the for-fee Linspire site, including full development environments, Xastir binaries, what-have-you. I suspect the Debian guys know all about this.
