Because he sent a correct validation code. If he had not, the TCPIP* above would have been TCPXX*. TCPXX* does not get IGated, TCPIP* does. The IGate acted correctly. It has been years since the validation algorithm has been made public, the system was insecure long before that. Statements have appeared many times on this list to this effect. Steve K4HG
