[aprssig] Mic encoders

Back when I came up with the first Mic-Encoder PIC in
1994, I was sure it would revolutionize APRS and HAM
radio.  But just about the time we got them into full
production, the D7 and then D700 came out, and their
dual-band simultaneous APRS and Voice radio severely
impacted the demand and need for Mic-E's.

But I still think it is the BEST way to get APRS out there
in every HAM mobile.  Still LOTS of advantages.  THe main
one is NO COLLISIONS!  When you release your PTT
on the voice repeater, you are competing with no one.
You WILL get your posit into the TNC at the digi.  And it being
at the HIGH site, it will do CSMA and have a high probabilty
of no collisions as it goes out onto 144.39.

I think what we need is more voice repeaters listening for
APRS.  Just think of it.  Running MIC-E mode you will
get back your dual band radio.  Anyway, just a thought.
