I was toying with the idea of placing concealed or semi-concealed sensors at various trail heads and forks in the backcountry around here for SAR use, the idea being that timestamps from the sensors could be used to assist with containment and determining area probability when someone goes missing on the trail. This actually got on Slashdot at some point, and more than one person said they'd make a point of destroying ANY technology deployed on a wilderness trail. I certainly hope they don't do this for the traffic sensors some agencies use to justify the maintenance of these trails... Scott N1VG
