A 1/4 wave whip over a suitable ground-plane is a reasonable compromise. A turnstile might be ideal if you can physically fit it on there. If not, shouldn't a 1/2 wave positioned vertically perform slightly better than a 1/4 wave antenna on a car? -- Curt, WE7U.
