However, even if it were to be a separate service which made obscene amounts of money, there is nothing you could do about it, because it is completely legal. The APRS-IS data exists in the public domain, and therefore there are no restrictions that can be placed on it. Any hub operator could prevent access, but they could just go to another hub. Just to be clear, I am completely in favor of this, anything that promotes awareness and increases usefulness of APRS is a good thing. Even if no other hub operator would provide them with service, I'd offer them a hub connection at findU. I would hope that they respect the x-no-archive (or !x!) flag that findU does to allow people to opt-out of archiving of their data, but they are under no legal obligation to do so. Steve K4HG
