I have used a PK88 for aprs and it does work. I selected AEA mode and single port as I recall. Think I may even have a manual for it. (I'm looking for another manul in the archive, so I may just run across it.) It has no GPS capability, as some of the newer modems have. Never tried the digipeater stuff other than normal packet. FYI: The one I have runs quite warm, so give it some breathing room.
