Yes, the GPS is blinking. I have disconnected the computer and set the radio to APRS mode. What controls the reporting of MY POS? Doesn't get sent automatically in this mode at the interval (Mine set to 2 minutes) set in menu 3-D? I have PACKET TX set to AUTO in 3-C and BEEP set to MINE in 3-F. I was out and about for a couple of hours and saw MY POS on the terminal once (can't drive and watch terminal) and findu only shows one position report. I expected a slew of them. 

Let me take this opportunity to apologize for accidently sending a post to this group without deleting some of my signature. 

Also, I want to thank all of you who are helping me get it together on my D700A. This has been wonderfully helpful.
