Stan, the bad temperature could mean that just a thermistor has fried. Don't
judge the GPS functions from that.

If you think it is fried, call Garmin (toll free) or send it in and ask them if
they can make any repair or exchange, even for another unit. Who
knows...sometimes the 'gpsfairy' is around.<G> If not, you've only lost the
