Was in Arizona at the beginning of the month. I setup my D700 in my rental SUV. We stayed at Tusayan, just outside the park and got a couple of APRS position reports in. I did not drive in the park. We did drive though the Sunset Volcano and Wupatki Parks and ny cranking up the power to 50 W, got a decent trace. For awhile APRS was my only means of communicating with civilization as I had the wrong tone code for a repeater that I could hear from time to time. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Bruninga" <bruninga at usna.edu> To: <aprssig at lists.tapr.org> Sent: Sunday, April 30, 2006 9:42 AM Subject: [aprssig] APRS in the National Parks As we approach Travel season, lets update the list of National Parks with APRS: http://www.ew.usna.edu/~bruninga/aprs/aprs-parks.txt With over 120,000,000 visitors per year, Some parks may have over 250 hams visiting PER DAY. Lets make sure APRS works there... Send me updates. de Wb4APR, Bob _______________________________________________ aprssig mailing list aprssig at lists.tapr.org https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/aprssig
