Yeah this doesn't pop in any way.  You'd also not hear the change 
between white noise and no noise either unless your ear is right up on it.

Bought as: Alinco DR135-TP from AES on 11-6-2002.

The first unit I bought on 11-6, I got a replacement a week later 
because the first unit was a TP but had no TNC in it.  Bad QA I guess.  :)
