I've done this exact program (VB 6.0) for MARCA a couple of weeks ago, and I 
can make the source (or executable) available to anyone who wishes it. Uses 
a simple GUI, can choose the port and other parameters, etc. Pretty basic.

Wrote a similar program for the Kantronics host mode (C0 Q C0) as well.
