Yes.  My chart has the results of some extensive testing done
between Xastir and UI-View32.  It is Base-91 Compressed format that
he was talking about.

Compressed posits are in most of the APRS applications plus the
Kenwoods.  Compressed objects/items are in APRSdos, UI-View, and
Xastir.
