No it does not. THe APRS1.1 addendum that fought through all of this before, updated the spec to current use and depricated the compressed objects because of all the problems it was causing. The goal of the spec is to promote and insure on-air compatibility, not to make programmers jobs easy. Maintaing compatibility is hard. NO denying it. Witness this fiasco... de Wb4APR
