Dont expect to find any parts at a Radio Shack
anymore (in a mall).  I went to get a simple '1/8"
stereo miniature jack'  in an emergency...  Here 
is the response:

"For a walkman or a cell phone?"

No, a jack

"you mean the big ones or the small ones?"

Miniature... small  but not the sub-mini...

To which he took me to a case with 
headphones in it.  I said:

No, I need the jack.

"Oh you mean the little thing with a hole in it?"

Yes.

"We dont carry that stuff any more."

Oh well..
