upgrades to 8.2 firmware are not expensive and can make a verion 5 or 6 kpc-3 usable with the new setings. -----Original Message----- From: aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org [mailto:aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org]On Behalf Of VE7GDH Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2006 10:54 AM To: aprssig at lists.tapr.org Subject: Re: [aprssig] KPC 3 Fred, WB4AEJ wrote on Jan 24 2006 > I've encountered someone who has a KPC3 he used back in the nineties. > I believe this will serve well as an APRS digipeater, will it not? One from that era can only be used as a "home fill-in" WIDE1-1 digipeater. Nice TNC. Very low current consumption. Can't do "new paradigm" settings. > What's a fair price for it? Probably $20 to $100.... $20 would be a good deal for you and $100 would be a very good deal for your friend. They were priced very low (at least here) when they first came out but then the price went up on them a few months later. Perhaps you could take a look on eBay and see if there are any listed to come up with a suggested price. 73 es cul - Keith VE7GDH -- "I may be lost, but I know exactly where I am!" _______________________________________________ aprssig mailing list aprssig at lists.tapr.org https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/aprssig
