I keep a printout of the relevent paragraphs of the vehicle code (It's available online in CA) with my registration so I can produce it along with the driver's license and reg at a traffic stop. I've never been stopped in CA, but I was once by an over-eager female rookie cop in Tucson, AZ. (I was mobile at night and she saw the glowing PC screen when we were stopped side-by-side at a red light. I showed her the vehicle code except, but didn't mention it was from CA. She let me go with no questions at all. ) Stephen H.
