That makes sense. I was already using rotate.aprs2.net. However, I couldn't
find "${CUSTOM}/aprs_status" to add the "&" on the end. Although I hadn't
observed any problems in the operation of the script, I added "&" to the end
of the last line in the file /home/irlp/custom/aprs_status so it is now...
(this line will get split in this email)


I restarted the node & the APRS script still seems to be working OK.

It looks like I had already done the modifications suggested by David KF7FLY
per message 38672 above. Perhaps that's why I hadn't observed the script
hanging. Next time around, I'm going to better document which scripts I have
added and modifications done to them!
