aprspass if I recall correctly is just a program to help you generate the right password. The real APRS servers use the passwords that are generated under "aprspass" so that you can log onto both your server and the APRS-IS servers. Don't forget that your aprs password is not the same thing as your user password you use to log on. One you've generated and aprs password you can then stick that data into your aprs program and it should then say verified. -----Original Message----- From: aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org [mailto:aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org]On Behalf Of Patrick Green Sent: Monday, June 19, 2006 11:44 PM To: TAPR APRS Mailing List Subject: [aprssig] aprsd passcode problems - unverified Hi All, Does anyone know how to circumvent the aprspass algorythym in aprsd? I can't seem to get my systems to talk bi-directional because of passcode problems. I have the correct passcode set on the server. Any ideas? When I look thru the code, I see things about local accounts on the system. How do the real APRS servers work(I don't have local accounts there)? Ethereal shows that the program is sending the right passcode along so it's not a translation issue over the network connection. It says that I'm unverified. The version of software is 2.2.5-15 73 de Pat --- KA9SCF -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
