The problem is that the packet is invalid. Maybe they were trying to make an object and didn't do it right or maybe they meant @ instead of *. They are also potentially illegal as there is no station identification in that packet or any others that I see. The reason you are seeing the packets are because 7 days ago (yes, a server's memory is from last restart) there was an EOC station at 34.42633333333333,-100.20483333333334 Since the packets from Bell Co. EOC are invalid, that is the last position seen for EOC on APRS-IS. 73, Pete Loveall AE5PL mailto:pete at ae5pl.net > -----Original Message----- > From: John Habbinga > Posted At: Saturday, June 24, 2006 4:27 PM > Subject: [aprssig] EOC coming thru APRS-IS regardless > > There is a station in Bell County Texas simply called "EOC". > It appears that it is transmitting on RF, then getting into an I-Gate. > The problem is, I see this station whenever I'm connected to > an APRS server even though I have an area filter established > that doesn't include that station's area. > > The packet is: > EOC>APU25N,W5BEC-5,WIDE1*,WIDE2-2,qAo,WD0ACD: > *232306z3102.73N/09728.62WoBell County EOC > > Can anyone tell me why it is getting past my filter?
