While, I agree that PPT is not the way to distribute drawings, I think
you have confused with MS Office with Internet Explorer for Mac OS X. 
Microsoft has discontinued IE for the Mac, but is continuing to
support Office.  They have committed to at least another five years to
support Office, including a new native version to support the new
Intel hardware.
