Would have been nice if Kenwood had provided a 5 volt power output like Alinco did, but oh well. I'm thinking about trying to come up with some sort of simple adapter that wouldn't require a cigarette lighter socket or anything. You could get power from the mic connector (using a little inline 'T' to split it), but a GPS and lighted microphone might be pushing the 200 mA limit. Seems like the easiest way would be to have it tap in to the radio's power connection, also using an inline splitter. Any ideas? I'd like to get something going before Dayton next year. I lost count of how many times I had to explain that the Deluo GPS receivers couldn't connect directly to the D700 without some external source of power.
