All good advice, most was tried.  The Verizon Westell 2110 is configured as 
a gateway device, and thus doesn't appear to have any built-in setup web 
server/configuration.   Angy IP port scanner is an old standby of mine,

I think at this point we'll replace the DSL modem completely.
