A pilot friend of mine recently added a NMO mount to the belly of his plane during its annual inspection. The clearance under his plane is not enough for a 1/4wave 2m whip, so we bent it backwards about 6 inches down and it runs roughly parallel to the body. a 70cm whip works great. We've actually talked 37 miles on 1watt GMRS radios. I also plan to put a wifi antenna on it as well. The particular NMO we got is not your run of the mill mount. It has a removable center pin that looks like a miniature golf tee and is rated up to 6Ghz. Got it from tessco.com Wes On 9/16/06, Andrew Rich <vk4tec at tech-software.net> wrote: > > Any suggestions ? > > ----------------------------------------- > Andrew Rich > Amateur radio callsign VK4TEC > email: vk4tec at tech-software.net > web: http://www.tech-software.net > Brisbane AUSTRALIA > > _______________________________________________ > aprssig mailing list > aprssig at lists.tapr.org > https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/aprssig > > >
