I use the DM-0515 which is the rock bound sheet steel version of this radio. I have had no problem running it at 12-14VDC. For Balloon work I run it on 8 Lithium AA cells in an external Pack. I think the 11.2 number sticks in my mind as the most common spec. I have seen for nominal input voltage.
