I just tried it out myself on a DR-135T Mk II. I tested it with no TNC, with a T2-135, and with an EJ-41U. In every case, the only thing that matters is whether or not the radio is in digital mode. As you said, the up/down buttons work fine. As long as you're in memory mode and not VFO mode, you can just hit up/down to move to a non-digital channel and it'll work as usual. There appears to be no way to get it out of digital mode in VFO without using the front panel buttons, though. Thanks for the T2-135 plug. The regular T2 (in the metal case) is finally ALMOST ready to go. Parts for the first 100 are on the way, and I've got a dozen hand-built units in testing now. Most of those are already committed, but I might have a few left to sell. Each one of those has 84 little surface mount parts, so there's no way I'm going to do those by hand on a regular basis. It was too much trouble to make the high-side switch an option, so now they'll all ship with a solid state relay rated at 30A. I don't think you'd want to run it as 30A continuously, but it's been demonstrated to be capable of driving a TS-2000 at 100 watts with no problem. Also, there are ferrite chips on all of the radio, serial, and accessory connections now to cut down on RFI issues. Not that I've ever had a problem with any board in that metal case, but what the heck, they're cheap.
