I am a storm spotter myself, and was for years the coordinator of Skywarn for our local weather forecast office. I was a weather buff long before I was a ham, so the program was very exciting and dear to me. The merger of the two I thought was perfect. Anyway, reread the messages again. You can decide for yourself what you want to believe, but I can sleep at night with my decisions. As I stated, a phone call to the NOAA personnel involved cleared up all confusion way back in December of 2006. 1,100+ clients connected to Tier 2 (including over 1,000 CWOP stations this very day) - you may want to take another look at things... 73 Phil - AD6NH
